Now is the right time to collect these beautifully smelling flowers. .
You can use them for making syrup, soft drinks, liquor, gelee etc. .
But the plant has many health benefits too. Dry the flowers for infusions – excellent remedy for colds and fever.
You can also make an extract of the flower for medicinal use, but don t exaggerate the quantity of intake.
Elderflower is used for swollen sinuses (sinusitis), colds, influenza (flu), swine flu, bronchitis, diabetes (careful not to get the blood sugar level too low), and constipation. It is also used to increase urine production (as a diuretic), to increase sweating (as a diaphoretic), and to stop bleeding.
